Software Piracy Industry Worth $29 Billion In 2003

No suprises here that "the global trade in pirated software, from versions of Microsoft Windows XP to Adobe Acrobat, hit nearly $29 billion in 2003" according to a recent article.

Since the boom of P2P file sharing, as in Kazaa and BitTorrent, as well as the increase in broadband users, the value of all software piracy has "amounted to about 60 percent of all legal global desktop software sales of $51 billion, said the Business Software Alliance (BSA)."
