It seems some clever person has devised a cunning plan to allow dead people to speak from beyond the grave. Is this going too far?

Good lord!
 Unfortunately, some people will take advantage of this. I can see it now......'Cemetary Tombstones Hacked' and the people are all saying "let me outa here".
