Will a PS3 bought in China work in New Zealand?

i am from New Zealand (the little country next to australia) and i am going to China soon. im thinking of buying a PS3 over there as they will probably be cheaper there, rather than over here.

so, will a PS3 console bought in China work in NZ??, after changing all the wire plugs etc.

Kinda like asking if a ps3 from China would work in America or Britain.

anybody know anything about it? an answer would be much appreciated!
cheers

PS3 has no region coding on it, so yes, technically it should work. as for the power, make sure you use the proper adaptors to get the power to 110, or whatever it came with...wouldn't want to blow up the system from something so minor xD

I'd be more worried about getting scammed..... a PS1 stuffed into a PS3 or something like that.....

It won't be cheaper in China. The markup and taxes on foreign goods is a lot. But yeah any PS3 can play games from any region, but not DVDs or Blu-rays though

Not sure about this, but you might also want to check if PS3 has international warranty too; don't want it failing after a week, and flying back to China to get it fixed...
