Disc drive drivers not working with new HD
So I just recently installed a New HD into my PC. But when I go to install the Operating System its says that the HD doesn't have to proper Disc Drive Drivers. I put in my original install disc that had all the drivers on it that came with the computer but it still isn't installing. I no longer have the old HD because it was destroyed. Is there anything that I can do? I feel like I am in over my head on this one and I am out of ideas. Help is much appreciated.

Hard drives don't normally need any drivers. The only time you might need a driver is if the hard drive controller needed it and that's usually only raid controllers.
What type of motherboard do you have? Which operating system? |

I agree with JMMD
![]() And as JMMD also asks, what OS are you installing? Your sys specs say Vista and as well as mentions a SATA HD. Vista and Win7 should include generic SATA drivers but if you happen to be installing XP, that's probably your problem (but there's a way around it).. So do let us know which OS you're installing |
