USB won't work

Hi i am only new here and am having problems with a usb that i have it works fine in my laptop but when i plug it in to my desktop it shuts down the desk top. i have another USB drive that work's fine in both computers. Any help would be great. Thanks Russ

Try a different USB port, sometimes usb ports can die. if you are trying on the front usb, switch to the back usb ports. If the problem persists, maybe the usb thumb drive is drawing too much DC current and causing the desktop to shutdown, indicating that the thumb drive is failing or have already failed.
