Dirt 2 "executable has stopped working"

has anyone else had a problem with the Steam version of Dirt 2 "executable has stopped working" message in the middle of the game?

I don't have this game or I would have answered sooner but if this happened to me more than one time or if it quit working altogether, I would uninstall and download a fresh install from Steam. Maybe one or more files were corrupted the first time.
