"They offered me an immediate refund OR to guide me through the fix."

If that was your experience with MoonValleySoft, then that is a change from my past experience with them. I'm glad it worked for you, but the solution I found to work did not require me to pay upfront... it was in a free trial version.

Re: Safemode Fixer OK

Ok with me,
pushed the button, fixed it at the first attempt.

No need of support, i had my antivirus out of the game but the fixer worked fine.
Just my 2 cents.

I have a similar problem. My computer runs fine but when I went go to boot up in safe mode to make changes it just starts normally. I tried several time hitting the F8 Key and just starts regularly. Kaspersky says I have the 'HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic' could this be what is causing this problem?

Here it is

The regfile did not work for me,
i believe it depends on your exact version of Xp and your hardware and software installed. I would not like to mess the registry up, the consequences could be way too painful

I tried Safe Mode Fixer , it did work after rebooting again (though not at the first hit).
I do not know why, but i am quite happy that it solved it.
I guess that the old good kick on the case helped (at least that's what my wife likes to believe...)
For whom needs it

re: help

hi,
safe mode fixer can help you fix the safe mode, but it look like you need to fix everything,
if the windows cd does not work it could be an hardware failure

Windows xp home edition. When pressing F8 I scrolled to each safe mode, the pc freezes, I tried "start windows normally", it counts down to zero...suppose to start....it freezes again. Each time I power off to try again. Windows 7 cd was tried...nothing. Where can I get a safe mode repair cd?

Thank you

My Xp would not load

It's been awhile since I was here. To reflect, my pc would not load at all. I ddi try the F-8 and F-12, installed new mother board, no good, bought new cd for my pc...no good. I ended up replacing the CPU ! that worked, I didn't loose any data, pics, vids...etc. All is good
I want to thank everyone that gave me support, ideas and solutions to my problem.

Thank you all again

I started the PC and at the welcome screen I tried to type in the password (maybe3-5 times) and well she didn't give it too me so I was guessing. At that point I think I shut down the PC via switch in the back(no mouse was hooked up)when I got her password and started the PC it would get to the WINDOWS XP PRO splash screen(loading bar at bottom) then when it is about to switch to the welcome screen it goes blank.
It does the same with LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION and when I go to start in safe mod it starts to load the drivers and then locks up(stops loading them)

Can I fix this without re-formating?

I also tried to do a repair with the XP cd and that didn't help.

Than You

Any ideas?

You should update your A/V program first and or get an antispyware program, install, update then run a full scan of the system. A spyware, virus and the likes always attempts to block all possible avenues that could be used to get rid of them, so dont hope you can get to safe mode safely

If this doesnt yield, consider backing up your files and doing a fresh install of your O/S.

When you do a forced shut down, the HDD drive could do a alittle coughing (I have experienced this a couple of times). Go to the recovery console, run "chkdsk /r" after which you might need to repair your windows installation
