OK. Here's a tidbit I just discovered and learned about Firefox (in general) and the FF Java Console addon (in particular) I thought i'd share
Turns out the solution is simple
When you look at your Firefox addon extensions (Tools->Addons) under Windows 7 or Vista you may find (see image below)
- When you update your Java, old versions of the FF Java Console addons weren’t uninstalled from FF (note I have 2 old versions of Java Console in example below)
- The Uninstall button for the FF addon is dimmed! (so you can’t uninstall it!)
Turns out the solution is simple
- Close all your FF windows
- Now start FF again using rt click to Run as administrator
> Rt click Start->All Programs->Mozzilla Firefox, select Run as administrator - The Uninstall button for the addon should now work!
