Celeron D "J" model to support LGA775 and PCI Express

Intel has today announced new Celeron D processors with LGA775 packaging.

New to the table is the Celeron D 340, which offers a clock speed of 2.93 GHz. It is LGA775 compliant, of course. Older Celerons such as the 325, 330 and the 335 which are currently Socket 478 will still be available as such, but will also be available to support LGA775. The new processors will have a "J" in their name, as in "Celeron D 325J." The Celeron now also can be combined with a PCI Express chipset.

Intel's new "J" processors will help it to defend itself against AMD's upcoming entry-level processor Sempron.
