BSOD everyday, win32k.sys ( win32k+e0604) error?

Hi guys as topic states, I've been getting daily BSOD's, even 2 - 3 times in one day of an error involving win32k.sys ( win32k+e0604).

I just got a new PC built, consisting of an Intel motherboard, i5 processor, 4gb DD3 1333mhz ram, nvida 9800GTX graphics card, and 650 Antec PSU. I am running Windows 7 64 Bit.

I have all new hard drives, and also have ran chkdsk, memtest, and every other possible thing I can try.

What can be causing this problem?????
I'll attach the minidump also.

I hope someone out there can help me out, because this has been ongoing for the past 2 - 3 weeks, and it is very frustrating.

Thanks guys.
Andre.

0x3B errors are often caused by faulty video card drivers. I suggest doing the following...

1. Download Driver Sweeper free version to your desktop screen and install.

2. Download the latest diver(s) for your video card but don't install them.

3. Uninstall your video card drivers and reboot your PC into Safe Mode. Run Driver Sweeper but ONLY for the video card drivers. I had someone use it on their chipset drivers! If it doesn't find any video card drivers that is quite okay; just leave all other drivers alone.

4. Reboot and install new video card drivers.

Just followed all those steps, and now I'm awaiting to see what happens. I'll let you know if this fixed it, or if I keep getting BSOD's.

Thanks a lot!

Route44,

After a whole day, I just got another BSOD - but this time it's one I haven't had before. I'll attach the minidump results:

Any ideas?

Nothing definitive was cited but your error code with explanation is 0x00000024: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM
A problem occurred within NTFS.SYS, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. There may be a physical problem with the disk, or an Interrupt Request Packet (IRP) may be corrupted. Other common causes include heavy hard drive fragmentation, heavy file I/O, problems with some types of drive-mirroring software, or some antivirus software.

A good standard proceedure here is to run a harddrive diagnostics. Have you ever done this before? If not what is the make of the harddrive?

Well, I've ran Chkdsk even though the hard drive is brand new... and it has found nothing.

What other tests do you recommend?

ChkDsk only does so much. For diagnostic purposes it would still be good to run a complete harddrive diagnostics. I've seen new harddrives like new memory die an early death.

Ahh you wouldn't believe it, but I got ANOTHER BSOD... never got this one before.

This is interesting, PROCESS_NAME: FlashUtil10m_A ???

I'm getting more and more confused by the second.. Lol.

FlashUtil10m_A belongs to the Philips Flash Utility. You have three different error codes each citing a different probable cause. This can often point to memory issues.

Do the following: Find the voltage specs of your RAM and compare it to the voltage setting in your BIOS. Do they match? How about the timings? If there is a descrepancy set manually to RAM specs in the BIOS.

Well, Memory voltages etc is all fine, tried upping the voltage to 1.5 etc to monitor any differences... made no difference at all. Got 2 Blue screens this morning.

Heres minidump on the latest:

I just tried, and it doesn't allow me to attach those files because of their extension. What would you like me to do?

Here are the steps in order to create smaller Minidump files. You should then be able to attach but we'll have to wait for another BSOD. My suspicion is corrupted memory, however. Have ever run Memtest? Also, find the voltage specs of your RAM and compare it to the voltage setting in your BIOS. Do they match? How about the timings?

For Windows 7:

Go to the Control Panel, choose 'System And Security', and then click 'System', and then click the 'Advanced System Settings' link.

In the opened window, click the 'Advanced' tab and then inside the 'Startup And Recovery' frame, click the 'Settings' button.

In the opened 'Startup And Recovery' window, there is 'Write Debugging Information' section. You should set the combo-box in this section to 'Small memory dump', and then click 'ok' to confirm the change.

Route44,

I just encountered my first BSOD in a few days.

I have resized the dump files, however in the windows\minidump directory, it is stil saved as the same extension (.dmp) and size?

Any idea?

The Zip option provided in the Manage Attachments button at the bottom when you go to post should be able to compress in order to attach.

Okay. Just attached the last 3 crashes over the past 2 days, in a Winrar .zip file.

Hope this helps you. Memory voltage is per supplier specs, and I've tried adjusting it from 1.25 to 1.65 etc but it makes no difference.

Since day one, fresh install of new retail edition of Windows 7 Home Premium, I have had Internet Explorer/Chrome/Firefox crash all the time, amongst all my BSODs. Could this be a motherboard/corrupt BIOS issue? I have upgraded BIOS also.

Lost for words at the moment!! Very angry with this thing! :(

Sorry Altama87 for the delay but I had enabled a setting on my firewall that prevented me from reading minidump files.

Memory corruption was cited in one, corrupted pool in another, and a Windows OS driver in the third.

Question: Does your motherboard have onboard video capabilities?

Hey Route44,

No problems!

And
1) No onboard graphics, I have a 9800GTX dedicated card.
2) I have checked all drivers... everything seems to be up to date, and onboard sound is also disabled due to having dedicated sound card.
3) I have performed Memtest about 4 times, hasn't detected anything... :/

I dont know what to do!!!! :(
