System specs
I use Memtest+. It's based off the original that has already been linked but it should be a more up two date version of the program.

Download the Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win). Insert a floppy into your floppy drive and run the program. It will format the floppy and create a bootable disk for you that includes the Memtest+ program.

Now shutdown your computer, and place the floppy into your drive. You will have to go into your BIOS and set your floppy drive as the first boot device if it isn't set as the first device already. Don't change anything else and then save the changes as you exit the BIOS. Don't worry if you've never done this before. If you just look around your BIOS and read the comments it will become apparent what you need to change if anything. Let your computer boot into the floppy and the program will automatically run. Let it run for seven or more complete passes. Plan to run the program overnight.
