Is my CPU damaged or in need of thermal compound?

Attached is a picture of my AMD 7 and my Corsair Hydro cooling system.

IS it damaged or do I just need to buy some thermal compound.

Think it would be good idea to clean both surfaces and reapply the thermal compound, you don't want to use too much.

Why would you think it's been damaged or in need of thermal compound?
You'll want to reapply now that you've taken it off.
