Existing VGA card problem

Ive HP Dual Core 2.3 model no wu218ea, i purchased one geforce 220 graphic card i tried to disable build in vga card.Please let me know how do i disable the onbard card and install the new graphic card.
Ive windows 7 ultimate operating system

You would disable your onboard graphics in the BIOS IF there is an option to do so. I wouldn't disable the onboard graphics until after you make sure you can get the new card working otherwise you won't have any graphics at all. Of course, you can reset the BIOS to default settings if you remove the CMOS battery but why go through all that if you don't have to?
