Upgrading my graphics card need help please

I want to upgrade my graphics card currently running nvidia 8400 GS want to upgrade to nvidia/ATI bus powered card which won't require a power connector reason for upgrade, unable to play new games.Budget i think bus powered cards come cheap so please post cards which can play new games smoothly with my specs.

My specs:
Motherboard: Intel DG 31 PR
Processor: Intel C2D 2.8 Ghz
RAM:4 GB
SMPS 400W but has no connector for graphics card.

I am on win7 it shows no support for dx11 will it make any difference? Thanks for helping

Nope not really. It just means you're 8400GS isn't capable of DX11.
I'm not entirely convinced that the 4670 is the best choice at that price though.

can you suggest any more alternatives & does every 4670 model have crossfire or only saphire offers crosssfire? Thank you

Please note:
There is usually a GPU power connector adapter included for systems that don't have a GPU power connector on the PSU.

How about a GT 440, doesn't need external power, cheap and can play most new games at reasonable quality.

Is the gt 440 better than hd 4670 is there any card in gtx that doesn't require power connectors. Thanks for helping guyz

I don't believe there is. My GTS 450 even requires a 6-pin power connector.

if you need a good graphics card for gaming @ small resolutions and without power connector , then The GT 440 is the best choice for you ,Good luck hitech0101

thanks a lot for the chart i found hd 5670 to be cheap & offering great performance also it says 400w psu & 500w for crossfirex it doesn't mention separate power connectors should i go for it or should i look for more options. Thanks again for helping me make the right choice.

yes , The hd 5670 dosen't require a separate power connectors , and it is more powerful than The GT 440
