Unable to connect to Web via Ethernet connection

Yesterday I posted this same info under the title "Unable to connect to web via Telnet connection". I have gotten no responses, and realized I should have said Ethernet instead of Telnet. My Ethernet connection is what my problem really is. I have copied the content of the earlier post to this new post, in hopes that someone will look at my problem and offer some advice. Here goes .......

Using laptop Toshiba Satellite A135-S4427 with Vista installed originally. I later had Vista removed & XP installed, and all XP updates are installed. Device Manager shows 2 Network Adapters: 1394 Net Adapter and Intel PRO Wireless 3945ABG. The info on the 1394 Net Adapter is: Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC. The Properties for 1394 Bus Driver indicates version 5.1.2600.5512. When using Windows Repair function for1394 Connection, I get this msg. "TCP/IP is not enabled for this connection". I have researched other posts for this message and have tried just about every solution offered, but nothing has worked. Attempts to update the driver resulted in msg. indicating the current driver is the best available. I went online to see if an update is available, and on pcpitstop.com found Windows XP 32-bit driver 5.719.0325.2009. Should I download & install this driver to see if it helps? I have worked on this for 2 days and am at my wits end. The reason I need the wired connection is that it must be used by Carbonite to perform a complete online backup of my computer.

1394 is the Fireware adapter that competes against USB. If you know how, just disable for now in the Device Manager - - else just ignore it.

First; disable IPv6 (if any) with this link

Reboot and wire the connection to your router (be sure your WiFi is disabled or at least has the switch in the off position).

get a command Prompt
(start->run->cmd) and enter ipconfig /all >myTCP.txt
follow-up by attaching the file myTCP.txt or copy/paste its contents . .
 
On my Toshiba, the RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC is truely a NIC
at win\sys32\drivers\rtnicxp.sys v 5.673.0712 2007
and the
1394 Net Adapter is show as a 1394 Net Adapter at win\sys32\drivers\nic1394.sys v 5.1.2600.2180

Thank you jobeard for your assistance. I have taken the following actions, but so far no joy:
1. Uninstalled ipv6 via command prompt & rebooted
2. Downloaded & installed Toshiba RealTek LAN Driver 5.639.0118.2006 - Windows XP 32 bit
& rebooted.
3. Connected my Ethernet cable from computer to Ethernet port on Belkin wireless router.
4. In Network Connections window, disabled wireless connection & enabled 1394 Connection
5. ipconfig /all output follows::

8. I also tried connecting my Ethernet cable directly to my ISP's cable modem.
9. Then I tried using the Ethernet cable provided by my ISP to connect computer to the cable modem.
10. At some point yesterday, I got information from somewhere to run resetlog command. I don't recall if I used any parameters with the command. Here is the output from that command:

When I had Vista installed, the Ethernet port worked properly when plugged into the Ethernet port on the Belkin Wireless Router. Do you have any more ideas?

First this needs to be corrected:

this is it; needs to be Hybrid.

Change via (start-> run->cmd) regedit
find this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters
find the key NodeType (or create it exactly as shown as a DWORD)
change the value to 8
quit Regedit
reboot​
this value controls how your system accesses the router to get the
IP settings (ie on your system, the tcp settings should be Auto Configure IP & DNS).

The wireless settings look good; but when attempting to use the wired NIC,
disable the WiFi device (on a laptop, there's an Fx key; Toshiba is F8)

you or someone had run a TCP TWEEK script (personally I discourage that) so that's fine.

Use LSPFIX and run that; it will correct any errors in the Winsock stuff.
