Opera 8.0
I was just wondering if anybody has tried the Opera 8.0 Beta. It has voice commands that actually work, but have, at least to me very limited use. If you want to go, back and forword, or refresh, page up/down, or go to your home page it's great, but beyond that, unless I'm missing something, it's kind of lacking. Now if you could tell it what link to open, then it would be great. But then again, it's a beta. Oh, it will even read pages for you, if a page features that option, like Opera's home pages do.
As it is now, I guess it's meant to work in a voice/mouse together mode. Anybody used it and have any opinions? Last edited by olefarte; 12-26-2004 at 08:29 PM.. |

I am using it.
It is much more compatible than the 7 series - GMail actually works despite the warning and MS homepage displays better. As for voice-opening links.. How do you imagine that would work? You say the link name and the voice recognition engine will parse your speech, matching it to textual data it finds in the page source? What if the link is under an image? There is no way the browser could parse the image hoping to find something written in it. |
