Messed up CD-ROM drive
I have a CD-ROM drive that's not detecting any CD's. The device manager says that it is working ok.
Can anyone help? |

hows your bios I am interested to see if others with more experience have to say about programs like Bios Wizard which was free at Major Geeks a while ago and tells you if your bios is functioning correctly

sometimes in windows a driver(s) can become corrupted. check that out, replace drives with one you know works and see...

try replacing the busted drive with one you know works. if the replacement works, the old drive is broke. it the new one doesn't work, you will have to look elsewhere...like at the drive controller/cable/mobo/windows.
