Can i throw in a third disk drive from another pc using an PCI/ATA controller?

The 3rd disk drive has winxp home on it..the new pc has xp Pro.

Do i need to fprmat the darn drive or can it just plug it in?

I would rather plug it in..cuz..well..i am too lazy too format it?

PCI Controller Unnecessary

Almost all computer motherboards made during the past several years can support two IDE drive cables for a total of four drives. Depending on the speed of your controller, you may want to add your 3rd drive to the secondary controller on the motherboard. If you’re using it for a CD-ROM or DVD drive you could offload these drives to the PCI controller.
