I have a 74gb Raptor 10,000 SATA HD and I can't get it to work. Whenever I close the jumper on my mobo to enable SATA, Windows won't boot. I tried fromatting the drive with partition magic and that got me a little farther in the WIN XP loading process, but not much. Heard of this bug before? ANy ideas?? Please help!

Did you install the drivers for the SATA controller in Windows?

Sorry about the vague question. I booted into windows in safe mode and the drive was recognized. It reported 69gb. I figured that was due to the RAID array, but I am unfamiliar with RAID so maybe not. I think I installed the drivers in windows. I right clicked on the .inf file that came on my RAID controller diskette and clicked install. I also rebooted into a DOS session and ran the install there. Is there a driver that I need for windows that you are aware of? Please keep me posted and thanks for the reply!

Right clicking and choosing "install" for the .inf never works. You have to use "update drivers" or "add new hardware" function. The drivers should be on that very same floppy.
