Dvd rom reads cds but not dvds
I am working on an old iSeries IBM Thinkpad and I am having trouble fixing the DVD ROM. It reads CDs fine, but it will not recognize DVDs. I have cleaned the drive with a cleaning kit. The firmware is up to date and I updated the software/driver. And yes I am sure it is a DVD ROM, the owner says it used to read DVDs fine. And he doesn't know of any cause to the problem. Any ideas????

Just to let everyone know (it appears not too many had interest in this problem). I got a new dvd rom for the laptop from ebay which fixed the problem, so obviously it didn't have anything to do with the configuration.
