new Laptop

Hi, I'm new to TechSpot becuase I just bought my first computer. Now, my problem is that I think it could have been stolen (not from "someone," because it was sold to me brand new--more likely, if stolen, it was stolen from some store). I bought it off an acquaintence who is actually sort of ambiguous about the whole thing. However, I want to know if I register it if I could get into any legal trouble. Also, if I want to install an Airport Extreme card (it's an Apple G4 iBook), would I have to register anyway? I need to be able to access the Internet. Any suggestions. Thank you.

Welcome to TechSpot

Maybe Apple's support would know better how to find out if it's stolen or not.

As for AE, registering isn't required.

Thanks for the input

Thanks. I guess I'll hold out on that registration deal.
Will simply registering somehow lead authorities to me or something? Or is there some other information I'm missing?

How does that process work?
