I have noticed that every now and then the process fssm32.exe goes bananas, eating up all my CPU time, causing everything to slow up, making onlline games unplayable and, occasionally, causing my PC to crash. This annoying little process belongs to my internet security package and is legit. According to the software support I can solve this by disabling the windows indexing service and windows file protection. I wasn't happy about doing this but I have disabled these two to see if it makes any difference. It doesn't. Any ideas what to do next?

What package is this exactly? Is it a real F-Secure product or some custom package?

You could try upgrading to the latest version or disabling some of the functions.
