These are both 128MB cards, note that I already own both so price doesn't come into balance. I just have no idea which is better, thanks people!

There is not much of a difference. They both have 128MB of memory and run at 64bit interface.

Nvidia 5200 - GPU/Memory = 250/400MHz with 400MHz RAMDAC, 2048x1536 @ 75Hz

ATI Radeon 9250 - GPU/Memory = 240/400MHz with 400MHz RAMDAC, 1920 x 1440 @ 85 Hz

There is another issue, and that is the "graphic interface" of these cards. It only runs at 64bit. If you are going to play high end games or do home video editing, you are going to experience serious speed problems. These cards also only channel 4 pixel pipelines which is not enough for alot of newer software. You need at least 128bit and 8 pixel pipelines.

Thanks nucleardreams,
Those problems you mentioned won't matter for me because this is just a card for my second computer (I'm upgrading from a 32MB TNT2 so anything is an upgrade!) I have my primary computer for video editing and high end games, but I don't know those intricate details, so what would be more effective?
I'm presuming the 2048x1536 and 1920x1440 are resolutions, but I'm not aiming at anything any higher than 1280x1024 tops, so they don't matter, but what would the difference be between the 240 and 250 GPUs? Would it be noticable?
Thanks.

TNT2
GPU/Memory = 135/166MHz
Graphics Interface = 32bit

I think you will definitely notice the difference between the TNT2 and the 5200/9250. But the difference in the reaction time and quality between the 5200 and the 9250 you will hardly notice. In this situation, go with the card that has the better driver interface and support. In my opinion that would be Nvidia.
