Laptop starts, but screen is black.

I'm going on a trip tommorow so I am in need of a fast response. Last night I was mulling around on my laptop, loading some things on to it. I downloaded Links 2003 demo, and I think i changed the graphic driver. This morning I started up my laptop, and all there is, is a black screen. I can't do anything. Help please!

You didn't tell us what the brand/model is, but have you tried toggling the display output?(this would normally be a function key that changes the display from LCD to VGA port, etc... such as the FN+F8 does for Dell machines)
Also, have you tried an external monitor? Does the screen start black, or does it lose picture only after it starts to Boot?

Sorry about that. It's a Pentium II IBM Windows XP Laptop.

It starts black. Doesn't fade it just starts that way.
