What game to buy to try out my new "macheen", HL2, Doom3, or ???

I just bought a pretty descent gaming computer, stats are:

NZXT Nemesis Mid Tower w/Window w/400W PS - Silver
ZALMAN Copper CNPS7000B-Cu Quiet (S462/478/754/939/940) CPU Cooler
LG GSA-4163B Dual Layer 16X DVD+RW/-RW X40 CDRW Optical Writer -
Western Digital RAPTOR 36.7 GB (10,000RPM) 8MB Cache - Serial-ATA
2X 512MB OCZ DDR PC-3200 Premier - OCZ400512PH
MSI K8N Neo4 SLI Platinum AMD Athlon64&FX PCI-X S939
AMD Athlon64 3500+ Processor - Socket 939 Boxed (90nm)
MSI GEFORCE NX7800GT-VT2D256E PCI-X 256MB DDR3

Now I want to buy a new game or two or three. I have RTCW and ET, Q1,2,3 of course, and Max Payne. Can't wait until Quake 4 comes out!

I heard Half life 2 is really good, but some bad reveiws of Doom3. What about
Splinter Cell? Or other suggestions please. I'm 43 and a half and going on 12 again!

F.E.A.R. is probably one of the most demanding ones out (or soon to be out). Don't forget FarCry either.

FarCry

Yes of course I forgot about FarCry, that's perfect. Thanks Didou.
F.E.A.R, I've never heard of it, but will look out for that too.

Cheers,

Half Life 2 IS a good game provided you can get past the lengthy installation and authentication process. I didn't have significant trouble on my 56K connection but it did take a couple of hours out of my life. I have the retail CD version. Despite that, I do recommend the game.
