Hi have bought my Connect3d 512 mb usb drive about 1 month ago and im now getting this weird message in a bubble "USB Device Not Recognized, One OF the USB Devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, please click this message" when i click it it gives me a list of devices connected to my usb ports one of them is Unknown device which it says has malfunctioned - see screen attached. I Tried checking if it works with linux, well it doesnt.

System specs
i'd say the usb drive is gone. it's probably static shocked. in that case, it cannot be repaired and you might as well throw it away.

Ya, you might try it in another PC. Or another USB port on your PC first. But if another PC, even Linux, can't do anything with it, it's likely toast.
