How do I update my S3 Graphics Prosavage DDR?
Hi everybody, I'm only just learning about this stuff. It seems I should update my Video driver, which I think is the "integrated" type? (Don't laugh.) In other words, it came on my Compaq Presario, which is 2.5 yrs old. (I haven't installed a separate Video Card.) Anyway, I get this idea about updating because I'm having a terrible time trying to play Europa 1400: the Guild. Granted, it wasn't well made and a lot of others obviously had crashing problems with it too, but updating drivers seems to be an often-mentioned possible remedy.
So using "dxdiag" I found I have this under Device: S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR Drivers: Main Driver: s3gnb.dll Version: 6.14.0010.0012 Date: 5-26-03 Do you think I need an update? I would have just gone to S3's website or another website and downloaded something but it's not so simple to me. There are dozens of things to choose from and nothing that looks like what I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I may not know much, but am willing to learn and try things. Thanks. Tom |
