Windows Media Player 10 Codecs

Need help , I occasionally download films on my pc, I now have 2.3 mb and was testing it. Downloaded film in about 3 hours but wont play, says missing codecs?Downloaded avi., maybe wrong type.

I hope by films, you mean machinima or a game movie, because we don't tolerate pirated movies and software here at Techspot. If you have downloaded it illegally, go somewhere else for an answer.

System specs
Download Gspot and open the file with that, it will tell you what codec is required. Its probably divx or xvid though since its got that avi extention.
