ok we need some more info on the problem. We know it shuts down, but when does it do it? How long has this been happening? And have you made any changes recently?

It could be your PSU?

Thanks for replying,
anyways, it restarts whenever it wants to. sometimes its restarts after i start up. Other times it just runs fine. Its does it off and on, ever since I rebuilt it. I just recently upgraded my comp from winows 98 to xp pro. also i just installed my new video card too. all my hardware is brand new. except for my cd rom and floppy drive. Sounds like another possible PSU problem. Did the problem start AFTER you installed the new video card? If yes it's probably the PSU not putting out enough power to feed it; if not then try booting up and running the system with another stick of RAM. Or if you have two sticks then interchange them to see if you have faulty memory. |

PSU Problem
Hi drew_twitch.
Did you manage to fix your pc? I had this problem once before and when I replaced my powersupply the problems disappeared. Try getting a 300W powersupply. Bye! Last edited by stepfour; 10-31-2005 at 04:59 PM.. Reason: forgot a line |
