Lite-On CD-RW problem
Hello,
I have encountered a severe problem with my lite-on CD-Rom/RW I hope somebody could help me out, since I'm not an expert with these things. My drive worked perfectly till yesterday, when suddenly it had just stopped working. That is, the OS (WinXP) does detect it, but in the device manager it says the driver isn't working and it doesn't show the CD drive in "my computer". I tried tons of websites for drivers, but the only thing I get is a firmware update, which doesn't work. It says "no drive detected" - Can you help me ? Many thanks, Y. All optica l drives use the native windows drivers. you may have a corrupted driver. go to device manager and open "IDE ATA\ATAPI Controllers" then uninstall the IDE channel that your drive is on. reboot the machine and windows will reinstall the IDe channel and the drive automatically when windows boots up.

Use the Registry Editor to remove the Upperfilters value and the Lowerfilters value.

I'm having the same issues. My drive is detected, but not reading anything beyond copyrighted CDs. And I know that the CDs I have are readable. What's going on?
