You are my last hope - help please

Hi

When I am installing some games to me pc they go to 100% installed and then say 'publishing information' and then it goes to my desktop, bombs out, and has deleted the data it put on the hard drive. It as not finished installing so deletes everything. It is doing this with dawn of war and call of duty united offensive. other games and utilities install fine.

I have no virus checker running or firewall. I have all windows updates on a Athlon Sempron 3.0 machine running win xp home.

Please help I'm at my wits end.

Do you have Dx9 and a Dx9 video card? Is the drivers installed properly?

AVG has a free virus checker - just download ...

Win XP has a built in firewall - enable it in Control Panel ...

Hi

I have a nvidia fx5200 card.

I use zone alarm as the firewall, but I did not run it when trying to install the games.

Just loaded media player 10 so I know the registry is accepting revisions.
