Windows can't start DVD/CD_ROM Drives

I am experiencing pa problem with Windows recognizing my two CD_ROM drives. Although they have worked just fine for the last three years, they suddenly don't show up in the list of devices in My Computer. Currently, both devices appear in the device manager list, but each with a yellow symbol (exclamation point). I tried going into the Device Manager and uninstalling each of them, and then rebooted. The system then recognized new hardware (both drives), but could not successfully install them because their "configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (Code 19).

Troubleshoot was no further help.

Can you help?

Regards,
J. Bird

Here is an MS article on how to identify and resolve error codes in device manager.
