computer remains running and the monitor shuts off. Anyone know what I should or could do besides calling my manufacturer

If you could change the font color of your post,it would increase you chances of getting a solution.Try black,for instance.What do you mean "shuts off" ? The screen goes blank or power shuts off ? Was it working before ? For how long ? Please edit your post. The colour you have chosen makes your post very difficult to read. Thanks.
Go to your control panel, and double click on power options.
When the window opens, make sure the "Turn off monitor:" "Turn off hard disks:", and "System standby:" are all set to never. Click apply/ok
