Where Do Windows Update Files Get Stored
I have a lan of 6 pcs all running XP Pro, only one has a net connection and when I run Windows update there is the new WMP9 there so I have downloaded it.
But surely Windows update has downloaded and exe file somewhere along the line, what I wondered was where this file is so I can run it on all my other machines instead of doing it individually on each machine!!

System specs
Usually they're stored in Temporary Internet Files directory, sometimes in \msdownload.tmp.

where do the downloaded vista update files go?
i pressed on cancel by mistake when i wanted to install sp1 and now i have to redownload the 400 plus mb file again?! where can i access the file on my computer?

In Vista, Windows Updates go to \ Windows \ SoftwareDistribution.

You can clean up the updates by stopping Windows Update service and deleting everything in that directory.
