Help With Proxys

we have a network at our school, but it shows up and they know what we are doing
i want to get a proxy switcher...so i can get around the blocks
dont wry im not gunna download porn or anything, i just want to get to sites...

i know how to run a proxy, is there anyway to make it so they wont know that i am using a proxy switcher...

please help, thanks

the issue to be solved is the access to the ports you need. if the server is
properly configured, this will not work, even with a proxy under your control.
you've got the right idea, but are viewing it backwords.

a proxy maps a lan port x to a public port y.

There's just no advantage to using X because
if Y is blocked by the admin, you're just doa (dead on arrival).

ok, i can get around the website blocking program here, ill take the chance worse they will do is take my computer for a lil while

but what bout other thigns, like AIM, and game servers...exmaples: Runescape, Gamespy servers for halo and the wrks..any way to bypass those?

if your access is via the browser itself (ie NOT a program installed on your system) then you might google for 'anonymous browsing'

alright, thanks again jobeard ..it just gets a pain when stuff is blocked..i can handle some blocks but why....WHY..why would you block simple things like yahoo sports, and other things that theres nothing wrong with

same problem with me and my darn school, they block all the good stuff like games and things that are fun or fun to read

try a few of thses sites

With a large population of students, all sharing the campus access, the network can easily drown by just a few streaming videos or mp3 channels. The asset (ie network) is there to facilitate learning and research. Yea, I like music too (violinist for 12yrs), but the ability to search, browse, and download research work is paramount to the univeristy. If you're a resident student, this means that your free time WILL be limited in this particular.

then you have those peopel in school peering over your shoulder asking you how you did that.......

same with me, ppl ask me how i got past, just watch yourself for any teachers looknig over your sholder :giddy: , as i heard online kids got suspended for passing the blocks
i got pased them in my school but somehow they foundout and blocked the blockers :giddy:

yeah ive gotten by em before, and i gave the idea to a few people...the whole school got an email from our IT people, which basically said that you arent supposed to do this....

that was a while ago...im gambling and doing it again a different way, they blocked a few ways but this time im keeping it to myself

still wrking on a way to make myself not show up to them when im going around blocks
