Hi, this seems like an odd problem to me. When i quit a program, often the process does not end eg. Using WORD, closed WORD, checked taskmanager and the process doesn't end, even when i click 'end process'. This is infuriating because i have to wait five minutes for my PC to shut down.

Any help, i'd be most grateful

I tested it on my browser and it worked, however, there are still some stubborn apps that won't close. Thanks anyway, any other suggestions?

Did you try end process tree instead of end process?

I can answer that SCHUMIinSA-Yes.

One get's certain programs which help with the Shutdown process. Maybe try one of those on that website or google your own.

Yes,SCHUM he`s already tried those.He`s getting desperate.

1. turn of system restore

2. click on start / run / msconfig /startup

go in in to startup see all those boxes with ticks?
