Problems with headset and soundblaster 24 bit live

i am having problems with my soundblaster 24 live and a headset i hooked up too but when i plug in the headset i can hear out of the headset but i cant talk through the mic and when i can talk i cant hear through the headset part so can someone help me with this problem get back to me soon
