Need DVD Decoder Help!

I just got a new computer, and have an external iomega dvd burner drive. I tried to play a movie dvd, and Windows Media Player said it didn't have a dvd decoder. Can I get one for free? Please help!

there is a freeware DVD player that will install the codeccs you need and you can use it or Windows Media player will use the zoomplayer codec to paly DVD's in it.
