Toshiba's $199 Pocket PC in March

Despite of the dropping sales worldwide, manufacturers are still trying to capture a bigger share of the market by pushing Pocket PC prices to the floor. If you can recall a year ago the least you would have paid for a PCP was around $400, now they can cost as little as the middle priced Palms.

I still like my Clie better (Palm OS based), though I must admit through time I've fallen in the group that use their Palms very little, more of a gadget owning thing.

Toshiba, opening the door for sub-US$400 Pocket PCs last June, will launch a new Pocket PC priced at US$199 next month, believing the aggressively priced handheld device could help boost PDA sales and better compete with rivals Dell Computer and Hewlett-Packard (HP), which have launched similar models with higher price tags.
