Safe mode questions

If I boot in safe mode, will I get video feed through my PCI video card or onboard card? I didn't disable the onboard in BIOS. I just set the PCI as my primary in display settings.

the card that normally works should work in safe mode as well

Agreed, Because cards have their own bios, they will work unless there is a technical difficulty.
