Can A Faulty Mother Board Cause Usb Items Attached To Say Windows Does Not Recognise Them

what mobo?

What mobo do you have? In setup, be sure you have it set for PnP OS. If it is, go to device manager, right-click and uninstall all USB controllers, then re-start the system. My guess is, you'll hear a lot of doorbells on reboot.

My kid sister broke one of her USB connections on her MOBO by pulling on the usb wire to hard. So we had to go an buy her a new USB PCI card. Now she is more careful.

So in answer to your question, yes.
