Fan keeps running after shut down
After logging out and letting computer boot down, both the power supply fan and the cpu heatsink fan continue to run. Anyone have any idea why this happens or how to make it stop? This is a new MOBO and CPU and everything else works just fine. No idea how long it would run for if allowed to do so, but after an hour we finally had to pull the plug to make it stop.

this should be in the hardware forum, but anyways...
It sounds like your PC isn't fully shutting down. For some reason, your BIOS isn't telling your other components to shut off. Even though you have a "new" mobo, there may be a BIOS update available that would fix that problem. Go onto the mobo manufacturer's website and get the latest BIOS and flash it. |

Sure it's not a Windows problem? Sometimes it's not shutting down.
You should look at your PSU also. What's your mobo? |
