Still on dell 4600c heatsink

One more question on the heatsink.It has 2 metal arms that hook to the board proper.Your remedy to use adhesive sounds good.Just wondering if it is necessary to hook the heatsink down or even worry about it.Thanks,Tony

You sound like you are talking about a CPU heatsink with all the talk about hooks. The chipset heatsink is small and uses screws. If it turns out you are actually talking about the CPU heatsink/fan assembly, you need to hook it down. That means either finding replacement parts or a new heatsink.
