As for the bootdisk, you won`t believe this, but I`ve never had to use a bootdisk. If you set the BIOS to boot from the CD,and it boots, you won`t have to either. If the CD isn`t bootable, that`s when you`ll have to use the floppy to "Boot with CD support".As described in one of the many previous links.

This pc was not in use for many years, I just pulled it out and I had 3 hard drives in storage so I had no idea what OS was on each drive. I am getting close but now the mouse and the floppy doesn't work all of a sudden, any ideas on how to get the mouse to work?

I`m starting to lose the will to live here. The only HD that will boot in the Dell,is the one on which the OS was installed, whilst the drive was in the Dell.If you want to use a drive with an OS installed whilst in another machine, you`ll have to reinstall the OS,on that drive whilst it`s in the Dell.
How to get into the BIOS,is described in one of the previous links I gave you. Here it is again - http://www.windowsreinstall.com/win9...exfullpage.htm In fact everthing is just a google away. I have to go out now.Possibly for 3 weeks.
