BF2 The current version of the application could not be determined

install shield starts up gets to the end then a pop up error reads. "The current version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate"

I have the Disks this is not a download.

Running windows XP service pack 2

3.40GHZ
2 Gigs of ram
Radeon x300 se

I know I post in the other thread but thought maybe it was dead and a new post as this is the game as I paid for it and the expansion pack.

Thanks

You have to remove all references to your previous install of BF2,from the registry.A good reg cleaner should pick up some of them.

This is a new Install

In ref. to the game. This is a new computer new game there is no battlefield 2 on it at all never was this is a new install.

I have installed Call of Duty COD2 and many other software and everything went smooth.

Again this is a new install of the game on a new computer, I can't get past the install shield to install it for there to be a refrance to the game in the reg. But I gave it a try purchased registry mechanic and it fixed some thigs but still problem installing the game same error

Problem Fixed

Ok Problem has been Fixed after massive searches. that you can find in the Installation Help files as there are a lot . You just have to rename your installshield folder to installshieldold then run the game, and the game CD will install a fresh copy. Fixed

C:\Program Files\Common Files\installshield
