saving a jpg from email only lets me save .bmp

I use hotmail and when I click to download a jpg attachment it opens it in a browser window and only lets me save as a bmp file. I just want to save it as a jpg? Please help!

That link showed exactly what my problem is, however, none of those steps fixed the problem...any other ideas from anyone? Thanks again!

This will convert bmp to jpg and a zillion other things too- http://www.tucows.com/preview/194891

It`s not a solution to the problem,I know.If you`ve tried everything in
peepnklown`s link,there can`t be much left to suggest.

all you have to do is download the bmp file, open it up in paint and save it as jpg.
