In that case, you will either need to run a Windows repair as per this thread HERE, or if that doesn`t help, you may need to format and reinstall.
This is because your hard drive contains all the drivers and hardware set up for your old system, and won`t work with the new hardware. Regards Howard ![]() |

i made a disk driver that contains ITE211 controller...my mobo came with this cd, where it gives me a choice to make bootable floppy drive disks...as windows is setting up, it says to press f6 to install a certain drive...so i press it, with the floppy inserted of course...and the computer detects the controller...installs it...and BAM...after its done...and windows about to install...i dont see the blue screen any more!!!
so for those who may have this...its about upgrading the motherboard with some certain drives...in order for some parts to work.. |

Ok, so I'm glad I found this thread because I'm having the exact same problem with my friends Dell Dimension E520. I tried to format the PC, but with problems involving her DVD drive (since made to work, but still dodgy) I simply took the HDD out and feformatted it in my machine, then copied over the XP setup files.
Now whenever I try and boot from the drive in my machine, its absolutely fine. However, in her machine it gives me the blue screen error described above (on the XP logo loading screen). Seeing as I've managed to get the DVDROM drive to work, I tried to do the format on her machine (start over), but I get the Blue Screen when the formatting loader thingo says "Setup is loading windows" or something. fbm2themex seems to have the right idea, as I'm pretty sure there is something to do with RAID thats supposed to be set up on this machine, which I am assuming formatting and installing windows on my machine (on her drive) would mess up. I just don't think Dell has these RAID driver boot-disk options or whatever. But yeah, suggestions? |

Aha!
Turns out I was correct in the RAID driver assumption, and that all I need was another disk provided with her PC that she failed to acknowledge existed. I asked her for all her disks, she gave me a couple, but not the one cotaining RAID drivers.
And she blames having to get a dell guy to fix it on me. Nick |

SATA Mode
I have experienced this problem mostly when there is a SATA HDD involved and a RAID controller.
To rectify this problem, you have to get into BIOS, find the SATA Menu and change in to Legacy mode (or ATA mode). OR just disable AHCI. (in AHCI menu) Worked for me. |

I had the issue. I used a linux disk to erase the boot sector and recreate the partition. Then I used F6 on the installation and drivers for the OS.
Worked for me. |

Lots of 0x0000007B advice
I found a ton of troubleshooting steps for this problem at this site:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findby...0x0000007b.htm Mine ended up being a BIOS config problem like some of you. |

0x0000007b (0xba4cb524, 0xc0000034 BSOD error
I followed Frogtoast's rec and it worked. I was working on a Dell Dimension E520 which had corrupted and couldn't get past the XP login screen. I was trying to run a new install of XP and I got the 0x07B error. I went into the BIOS and changed from the Raid On option to the Autodetect Raid / ATA option and this allowed me to get past the error during install. The Raid On option is the Dell Default and they recommend using this via a message in the BIOS, but I disregarded it and was able to proceed. If I had the original Dell install disks I might have been able to move forward but the owner lost them. Pressing the F6 key at the very beginning of the new install might have gotten past the problem if I had not changed the BIOS but I would have needed to know and have available a driver for the Dell Raid controller.
