Buring CD at a Maximum speed

I use roxio and nero for burning data, when burning data, before that it ask for a speed, 24x 32x 48x. Now I know the higher the faster it burn, but how can I ensure how fast the cd is going to read those data that I've burn? since it's too fast... I can't really trust the speed of the burning to when opening files in the cd-rom..so......my question is that is it good to burn low speed or high speed? when do I use that high/ low burning speed.

thanks~~

I suggest burning at about half speed. This should ensure that the disc won't get any errors. The faster you burn, the more chances for something going wrong. That's my philosophy anyway.
