Hard drive isssues

i am having problems with my system bogging down so i defraged and scan disked and ran my anti virus. my last and final attempted i ran pc doc and it said it could not run my hard drive test what should i do i have an hp pavilion 533w someone please help me

please post more info
system and what service paks
processor
memory
have you added new device or softs as of late
do you know where event viewer is ,should check that
if xp you can watch the process's under alt ctrl del
this will have a tab for network watch net activaty for spyware
