Monitor probs

alright purchased a brand new cpu and turns out the monitor just doesnt want to get a signal from the cpu, how can i fix this.
 
disconnect all devices, so you've gone down to basic. reseat the cpu while your at it and also everything else [ram, vid card etc] and power as well..
any beeps from bios?
tried reseting cmos?
